Clinical Consultation
At Root and River Collective, clinical consultation is more than advisory—it's collaborative, strategic, and rooted in a deep understanding of what it takes to build effective, ethical, and trauma-informed clinical programs. With over a decade of experience in behavioral health, I offer consultation services that support agencies, organizations, and clinical teams in strengthening their infrastructure and enhancing the quality of care they provide.
Whether you’re looking to refine documentation practices, expand staff knowledge through targeted training, develop a new program, or evaluate the integrity of your current services, I bring a thoughtful, systems-oriented approach that balances both administrative needs and client-centered outcomes.
Areas of Expertise:
Clinical documentation audits & improvement
Staff training and clinical development
Program design and curriculum creation
Chart reviews and quality assurance practices
Recovery-based and co-occurring care implementation
Trauma-informed service delivery
Supervision structure and clinical leadership mentoring
Substance Abuse & Recovery Leadership
My professional foundation is rooted in co-occurring treatment and substance use recovery. I’ve held leadership and administrative roles in intensive outpatient, residential and detoxification settings as Clinical Director for a major recovery center in Albuquerque, NM where I led program development, supervised multidisciplinary teams, and implemented curriculum aligned with evidence-based practices. These experiences have shaped my commitment to building programs that are sustainable, clinically sound, and deeply attuned to the lived experiences of clients.
Public Sector Collaboration
In addition to my work in direct care settings, I have had the privilege of consulting with the New Mexico Department of Health, supporting clinical improvements and preparing programs for Joint Commission accreditation. My consultation included hands-on work with state-run facilities to align their clinical programming with best practices in documentation, trauma-informed care, and integrated substance use treatment.
I also bring experience working within military systems, specifically with the United States Air Force’s ADAPT (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment) program at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this role, I provided clinical services, coordinated referrals, and consulted with leadership to improve outcomes and ensure service members received appropriate and effective levels of care.
Consultation Services Include:
Clinical record and documentation review
Tailored training for staff and leadership teams
Program and curriculum development for IOP, PHP, or residential levels of care
Policy and procedure development
Supervision and mentorship for clinical leaders
Strategic planning for clinical growth and compliance
